Turkmenistan corridor: China passenger exports rose fast — retail still licensed and fleet-led
Export-desk notes for early 2026 put Turkmenistan among the fastest-growing Central Asian destinations for China passenger vehicles (+74% y/y in a Jan–Feb window), while NEV CBU remained thin. Public fleet proof points stay JAC E-J7 taxis and Yutong e-buses.
Ashgabat does not publish a monthly official-dealer league table. What desks can still use:
- China export notes (Jan–Feb 2026 window): passenger-vehicle shipments to Turkmenistan were among the fastest-growing of the five Central Asian markets (about +74% y/y in that two-month print). The same notes still described NEV CBU as not yet material — unlike Uzbekistan.
- On-record fleets: JAC E-J7 taxis + chargers in Arkadag (2023 official delivery); Yutong electric buses / taxi electrics in Ashgabat and Arkadag (ministry remarks, late 2025).
Desk takeaway: rising China→TM CBU interest is real; private NEV retail volume is not yet a customs headline. Quote only through licensed importers, not a grey third-country VIN.
